Spectators: 6457 (Terracing: 5457, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ubirataia's Evandro Ferraz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Faustão Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 3rd minute of the match Guto Gerber shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabiano Zanette showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Faustão Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 6th minute, Lúcio Rezende made a precise shot to the right of William do Nascimento. Helvetia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Evandro Ferraz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 15th minute, Lúcio Rezende ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. William do Nascimento was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. A collision led to Ubirataia getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Paulo José Nascimento hit a great ball. Helvetia's Laerte de Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 21st minute Evandro Ferraz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William do Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 22 played minutes Helvetia got a freekick which was hit by Walmir Figueiredo. William do Nascimento made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when José Vítor Mesquita sent off a good shot on target. Laerte de Castro struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Fabiano Zanette didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Helvetia. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Evandro Ferraz in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck William do Nascimento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fabiano Zanette took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedê Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 35 in the game by Pedrão Breckenfeld from a close distance when the talented William do Nascimento managed to make a qualified save. Helvetia's players were relieved. In the 36th match minute, Helvetia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dida Duarte to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Helvetia's zone, Paulo José Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William do Nascimento came out of the goal and Paulo José Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th match minute, Helvetia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dida Duarte to maneuver through the defense. William do Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lúcio Rezende in the 45th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, José Vítor Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ubirataia's supporters rose to their feet, but José Vítor Mesquita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. William do Nascimento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Vítor Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Dedê Mendes made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Helvetia booed when Ubirataia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oséias Neto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ubirataia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when José Carlos Faustino scored to the left of an out of position Fabiano Zanette, making the score, 3-2. If José Vítor Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Ubirataia's Fabiano Zanette got control of the ball when Laerte de Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Faustão Melo in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck William do Nascimento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Faustão Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William do Nascimento having to interfere. José Vítor Mesquita struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. William do Nascimento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ubirataia. When Evandro Ferraz came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Ubirataia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evandro Ferraz couldn't finish the play. Ubirataia were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
