Flávio Veloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorian de Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flávio Veloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorian de Medeiros in the 8th minute of play. After 10 played minutes Cafeeiros SS got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Castro. 15 minutes into the match, Corinthians's Dorian de Medeiros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flávio Veloso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Corinthians's Oséas do Vale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Corinthians from getting a goal against them. 20 minutes into the match, Cafeeiros SS's goal looked a bit too open when Dorian de Medeiros came free, but Flávio Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Corinthians's goalkeeper Oséas do Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hélio Castro. Hélio Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséas do Vale having to interfere. After 34 minutes, Almir do Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corinthians and the Cafeeiros SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Corinthians getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Almir do Vale hit a great ball. In the 35th minute, Décio Toscano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edson Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, Corinthians's goal looked a bit too open when Décio Toscano came free, but Oséas do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dorian de Medeiros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Raí Penha struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Flávio Veloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corinthians. Raí Penhas short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Flávio Veloso to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, Cafeeiros SS's Flávio Veloso got control of the ball when Raí Penha tried to sneak it across the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Cafeeiros SS's goal looked a bit too open when Dorian de Medeiros came free, but Flávio Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 67 minutes, Hélio Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cafeeiros SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hélio Castro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 72nd match minute, Cafeeiros SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Pitta to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th minute, Dorian de Medeiros reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Flávio Veloso. The goal made the score 0-1. In the 81st minute, Hélio Castro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oséas do Vale was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 84th minute, Dorian de Medeiros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 87 minutes into the game, Dorian de Medeiros recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Flávio Veloso. Dorian de Medeiros showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorian de Medeiros in the 91st minute of play forced Cafeeiros SS's goalkeeper Flávio Veloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Corinthians's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
