Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dalmo Eger started the match with the kick off. In the 7th minute, André Pombal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cléber Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bebeto Vinhas having to interfere. In the 13th minute of the match, Cléber Dantas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bebeto Vinhas was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 21st minute João Carlos Teixeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bebeto Vinhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Aírton Furlan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bebeto Vinhas was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Cléberson Rossi kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After having played for 25 minutes, Dalmo Eger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aiuruoca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dalmo Eger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Aiuruoca's Bebeto Pirani got a free kick in the 29th minute. When Emerson Falcão came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Aiuruoca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emerson Falcão couldn't finish the play. After 35 played minutes Pradinia SS got a freekick which was hit by André Pombal. Genílson Dantas, 36 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 45th match minute, Aiuruoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bebeto Pirani to maneuver through the defense. 46 minutes into the match, Aiuruoca's goalkeeper Bebeto Vinhas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cléber Dantas. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aírton Furlan to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Pradinia SS were awarded a corner. Armando Castro went to the cornerflag to take it. 55 minutes into the match, Aiuruoca's goal looked a bit too open when Cléber Dantas came free, but Bebeto Vinhas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bebeto Vinhas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cléber Dantas's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Pradinia SS's zone, Emerson Falcão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Téo Pinheiro came out of the goal and Emerson Falcão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 64 minutes into the game, Aírton Furlan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Bebeto Vinhas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bebeto Vinhas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cléber Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dalmo Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Téo Pinheiro having to interfere. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pradinia SS's goalkeeper Téo Pinheiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisco Arósio during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Pradinia SS booed when Aiuruoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dalmo Eger might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Téo Pinheiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dalmo Eger ran back to his position shaking his head. If Aírton Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
