In the 4th minute, Crubixa's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Anísio Velasco fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Hélio de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Téo Pena having to interfere. Carlos Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo dos Santos in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Gustavo dos Santos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Taffarel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Téo Pena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélio de Azevedo in the 18th minute of the match. If Hélio de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo dos Santos in the 30th minute of play forced Andorinhas's goalkeeper Carlos Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hélio de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Crubixa's Téo Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélio de Azevedo in the 38th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Andorinhas's goal looked a bit too open when Tadeu Damião came free, but Carlos Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Téo Pena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio de Azevedo in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Crubixa were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gustavo dos Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. Carlos Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo dos Santos in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute Hélio de Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Téo Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Andorinhas's zone, Gustavo dos Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Taffarel came out of the goal and Gustavo dos Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andorinhas's Gabriel da Silva managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Silas Koehler in the 70 minute of the game. Carlos Taffarel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tadeu Damião went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Andorinhas's Sebastião Almeida managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ruy Sampaio in the 80 minute of the game. When Anísio Velasco came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Andorinhas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anísio Velasco couldn't finish the play. Carlos Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Abundio Bouzas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Téo Pena having to interfere. Sebastião Almeida hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. When Abundio Bouzas fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Andorinhas's protests and gave Abundio Bouzas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd minute, Abundio Bouzas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Crubixa walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
