If Silas Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hernani de Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hernani de Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 7th minute, Hernani de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silas Tróia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Franklin Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ipomeia's zone, Nilton Leme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guga Sampaio came out of the goal and Nilton Leme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guga Sampaio made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Nilton Leme sent off a good shot on target. After 21 played minutes Vicente got a freekick which was hit by Rony Sarmento. Vicente's Franklin Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Mesquita in the 23rd minute of play. Kaká Mesquita scored 0-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Franklin Souza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Vicente getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Ronaldo Marinho hit a great ball. Kaká Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Souza having to interfere. Luciano Munhoz charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luciano Munhoz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luciano Munhoz hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After 46 played minutes, Ipomeia's Dorival Andrade shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Franklin Souza came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ipomeia reached it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silas Tróia made a kick off. Nilton Leme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ipomeia's Kaká Mesquita got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Franklin Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silas Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute, Silas Tróia fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Kaká Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Souza having to interfere. Didi Araújo charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Didi Araújo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Didi Araújo hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Kaká Mesquita did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-2 to the left of a surprised Franklin Souza 84 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kaká Mesquita got free with Franklin Souza in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle sounded Ipomeia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Vicente.
