The Saikyou Team NTC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Célio Montenegro should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo da Fonseca in the 21st minute of play forced Saikyou Team NTC's goalkeeper Célio Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fiori da Cunha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Otávio Borges made a huge save. Célio Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Leme, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Saikyou Team NTC's zone, Geraldo da Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Célio Montenegro came out of the goal and Geraldo da Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Célio Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geraldo da Fonseca in the 27th minute of the match. After having played for 32 minutes, Geraldo da Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paranatama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geraldo da Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 33 minutes into the match, Saikyou Team NTC's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Leme came free, but Célio Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Célio Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Frank Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Leme to make the kick off. Célio Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Leme in the 60th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Geraldo da Fonseca could shoot a difficult shot in the 74th minute, which Célio Montenegro however easily saved by the left post. Ramón Vinhas made in the 76th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Geraldo da Fonseca. In the 79th minute, Geraldo da Fonseca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Célio Montenegro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After 83 played minutes Saikyou Team NTC got a freekick which was hit by Fiori da Cunha. After 84 played minutes, Paranatama's João Carlos Lago shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Célio Montenegro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Paranatama reached it. With his leg Célio Montenegro managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when Paranatama's Geraldo da Fonseca fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Célio Montenegro made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Geraldo da Fonseca sent off a good shot on target. 90 minutes into the match, Saikyou Team NTC's goalkeeper Célio Montenegro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geraldo da Fonseca. Célio Montenegro made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Geraldo da Fonseca sent off a good shot on target. 96 minutes in the game, Geraldo da Fonseca fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Célio Montenegro having to interfere. Paranatama's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
