Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Horácio Fernandes to make the kick off. Rio Claro F.C.'s Valdir Maciel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Rio Claro F.C. from getting a goal against them. If Horácio Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rio Claro F.C.'s Vânderson Pirani got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rio Claro F.C.'s Valdir Maciel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Rio Claro F.C. from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Rio Claro F.C.'s Valdir Maciel got control of the ball when Paulão Arce tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zeca de Toledo hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 91stth minute of the game Vânderson Pirani who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cha SS's Dagoberto Rossi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 93rd match minute, Rio Claro F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Vasconcelos to maneuver through the defense. The Rio Claro F.C. support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
