In the 25th match minute, ABSURDO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan de Toledo to maneuver through the defense. One of ABSURDO FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Pico:s goal. Décio Macedo had in the 29thth minute some difficulties stopping Wellington Ferreira's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When Américo Sampaio fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pico's protests and gave Américo Sampaio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st minute, Américo Sampaio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Antônio Goiano came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Pico fans jumped to their feet. With a left leg Ernesto Nunes saved Pico from getting behind. In the 80th minute, one of ABSURDO FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ABSURDO FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Américo Sampaio in the 88th minute of play forced ABSURDO FC's goalkeeper Décio Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Américo Sampaio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Décio Macedo came out and tried to block the shot, but Américo Sampaio slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 90th minute. 95 minutes into the match, ABSURDO FC's goalkeeper Décio Macedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antônio Goiano. After having played for 96 minutes, Antônio Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
