The coaching staff of verusca¹s team protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Pál Szabó had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 16 minutes into the game, one of verusca¹s team:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave AlGheex a penalty, 18 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Pedro Luís Vale, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of verusca¹s team's Célio Cunha. 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Elano Maranhense managed to get in a good position for a shot. AlGheex's supporters rose to their feet, but Elano Maranhense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Célio Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglas de Queiroz in the 25th minute of play forced verusca¹s team's goalkeeper Célio Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Célio Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elano Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 33 minutes into the match, verusca¹s team's goal looked a bit too open when José Paulo Sarmento came free, but Célio Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Fabiano Brasil to make the kick off. A collision led to AlGheex getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Pedro Luís Vale hit a great ball. Luís Fabiano Brasil struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Rony Pirani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for verusca¹s team. With a little luck, verusca¹s team's Célio Cunha got control of the ball when Elano Maranhense tried to sneak it across the goal line.
