After a rather tough play, Afligidos's Cássio Pereira got a free kick in the 11th minute. Eliézer Prado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Baltazar Esteves's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfredo Marques in the 19th minute of play forced Milan FC's goalkeeper Victor do Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th match minute, Afligidos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nildo Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. Eliézer Prado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilberto Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Milan FC's Victor do Nascimento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Milan FC from getting a goal against them. Nildo Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor do Nascimento having to interfere. If Manfredo Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Baltazar Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Milan FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Baltazar Esteves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliézer Prado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Douglas das Neves charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Douglas das Neves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Douglas das Neves hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. The supporters of Milan FC booed when Afligidos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Perez didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Douglas das Neves came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Afligidos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Douglas das Neves couldn't finish the play. When André Luís Catarinense fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Milan FC's protests and gave André Luís Catarinense a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd minute, one of Milan FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Milan FC. Breno de Senna shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Manfredo Marques recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

If Manfredo Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 58 minutes of play Afligidos's Douglas das Neves was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. João Paulo Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliézer Prado having to interfere. 70 minutes into the game, Nildo Palmeira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Victor do Nascimento was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 77th minute, Ezequiel Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Milan FC's Victor do Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nildo Palmeira in the 80th minute of play. Victor do Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfredo Marques in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Milan FC's goal looked a bit too open when Túlio do Vale came free, but Victor do Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nildo Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Victor do Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nildo Palmeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, João Paulo Quintal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
