Richard Mandrak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geraldo Bastos in the 3rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Sabóia in the 4th minute of play forced Chapecoense FC's goalkeeper Richard Mandrak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 5 minutes of play, Esperantina SS's Geraldo Bastos made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Richard Mandrak was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 8th minute, Allan Sabóia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Chapecoense FC booed when Esperantina SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elói Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. Richard Mandrak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geraldo Bastos, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. João Paulo Pontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Ricardo da Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Acácio Ortiz in the 27th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Geraldo Bastos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Richard Mandrak. Chapecoense FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Geraldo Bastos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 35th match minute, Chapecoense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiaguinho Nunes to maneuver through the defense. Tiaguinho Nunes kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Esperantina SS's André Luís de Souza tried to score from far away in the 37th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Allan Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geraldo Bastos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Richard Mandrak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Allan Sabóia sped through Chapecoense FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Richard Mandrak. Allan Sabóia struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Richard Mandrak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esperantina SS. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Allan Sabóia to strike the kick off in the second half. Geraldo Bastos struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Richard Mandrak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esperantina SS. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, João Paulo Pontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chapecoense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but João Paulo Pontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo da Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72nd of the match, Allan Sabóia tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Richard Mandrak got in the way and made a wonderful save. Richard Mandrak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Allan Sabóia's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. With a little luck, Chapecoense FC's Richard Mandrak got control of the ball when Geraldo Bastos tried to sneak it across the goal line. André Luís de Souza was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 81st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 88 minutes, Geraldo Bastos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esperantina SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geraldo Bastos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Geraldo Bastos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Allan Sabóia received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Richard Mandrak came out and tried to block the shot, but Allan Sabóia slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 93rd minute. João Paulo Pontes struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Ricardo da Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chapecoense FC. Esperantina SS played a much better game than Chapecoense FC and deserved their victory. The Chapecoense FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
