Jerônimo Braga ran back to his position shaking his head. Coracao SS's Luisão Silveira got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Jerônimo Braga got free in front of the goal in the 12th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Gonçalo Trevisan was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 14th minute Anders Fahlgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Trevisan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Coracao SS's Pedro Paraense got a free kick in the 15th minute. Jerônimo Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Gonçalo Trevisan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anders Fahlgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 0-1 became the score in the 22nd minute when Carlinhos Prestes elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Anders Fahlgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dráusio Aguiar fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coracao SS's protests and gave Dráusio Aguiar a yellow card for diving instead. After 27 played minutes Coracao SS got a freekick which was hit by Dráusio Aguiar. Jerônimo Braga scored 0-2 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gonçalo Trevisan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 35th minute, Anders Fahlgren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gonçalo Trevisan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Jerônimo Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luisão Silveira to make the kick off. The supporters of Coracao SS booed when E.C. XVI DE MARÇO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonsinho Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gonçalo Trevisan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anders Fahlgren in the 59th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlinhos Prestes got free with Gonçalo Trevisan in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Coracao SS's goalkeeper Gonçalo Trevisan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Anders Fahlgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Trevisan having to interfere. Gonçalo Trevisan was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Jerônimo Braga capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jerônimo Braga really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. After some careless play in the Coracao SS defense, Anders Fahlgren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gonçalo Trevisan. The Coracao SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gonçalo Trevisan should have stopped the shot. Luisão Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 80th minute Jerônimo Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Trevisan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gonçalo Trevisan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonsinho Carneiro in the 82nd minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Carlinhos Prestes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gonçalo Trevisan. Coracao SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlinhos Prestes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. Jerônimo Braga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gonçalo Trevisan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Carlinhos Prestes made a precise shot to the right of Gonçalo Trevisan. Coracao SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-8. E.C. XVI DE MARÇO played a much better game than Coracao SS and deserved their victory. The Coracao SS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
