The supporters of Larga SS booed when Colorado EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tostão de Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto Tavares having to interfere. Cipriano Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Erivaldo Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colorado EC's goalkeeper Erivaldo Lara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Zé Augusto Nóbrega struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Erivaldo Lara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Larga SS. After having played for 18 minutes, Cipriano Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Larga SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cipriano Tavares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cipriano Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Igor Baiano's late challenge caught a Colorado EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Igor Baiano helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Larga SS getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Igor Baiano hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Colorado EC's Zé Augusto Tavares threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Thomás de Mendonça, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. João Augusto Alcântara's late challenge caught a Colorado EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Augusto Alcântara helped the player get up and apologised. After 29 played minutes Larga SS got a freekick which was hit by João Augusto Alcântara. In the 34th minute Cipriano Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erivaldo Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erivaldo Lara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cipriano Tavares's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Erivaldo Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Augusto Nóbrega, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erivaldo Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Tavares in the 41st minute of play. A collision led to Colorado EC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Sidnei Ceresso hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, Cipriano Tavares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thomás de Mendonça to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Colorado EC's zone, Cipriano Tavares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erivaldo Lara came out of the goal and Cipriano Tavares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Erivaldo Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Augusto Nóbrega in the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Cipriano Tavares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cipriano Tavares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erivaldo Lara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Erivaldo Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Tavares in the 91st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tostão de Medeiros in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Augusto Tavares prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
