The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Shutetsu Futebol Clube. In the 15th minute of the match Jabuticabal SC got a corner. Shutetsu Futebol Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Belchior Castro ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Richard Correia heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The referee felt a red card was in order, 18 minutes into the game, when Edmundo Fantini put in a rough tackle. In the 18th minute, Edmundo Fantini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Belchior Castro didn't quite understand what happened when in the 20 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. After 23 played minutes Jabuticabal SC got a freekick which was hit by Belchior Castro. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Marquinhos Oliveira sped through Jabuticabal SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Léo Recife. A collision led to Jabuticabal SC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Claudinei Sampaio hit a great ball. After having played for 35 minutes, Marquinhos Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shutetsu Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marquinhos Oliveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Albertino Moreno fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jabuticabal SC's protests and gave Albertino Moreno a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th minute, Albertino Moreno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Humberto Mota successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Hugo Gudmundsson hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudinei Sampaio to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Shutetsu Futebol Clube's Emerson Mandrak got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Claudinei Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Mota having to interfere. Marquinhos Oliveiras short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Léo Recife to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 59 minutes into the match, Marquinhos Oliveira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Léo Recife. Jabuticabal SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marquinhos Oliveira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jabuticabal SC's goalkeeper Léo Recife, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 68 minutes into the match, Shutetsu Futebol Clube's Elari Elts sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Léo Recife narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Humberto Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato Brodel in the 70th minute of play. If Diego Maradona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinei Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Mota having to interfere. Shutetsu Futebol Clube's Humberto Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Sampaio in the 81st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Jabuticabal SC's Belchior Castro got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Léo Recife came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Shutetsu Futebol Clube's Marquinhos Oliveira. But to his dismay, Marquinhos Oliveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 93rd minute, Hugo Gudmundsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 95 minutes into the match, Shutetsu Futebol Clube's Marquinhos Oliveira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Léo Recife narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Shutetsu Futebol Clube's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
