After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Aílton do Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Patente's supporters rose to their feet, but Aílton do Valle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Noel Félix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ronaldinho Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Siqueira in the 6th minute of the match. Aílton do Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Patente getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Natanael Couto hit a great ball. Carlos Eduardo Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Noel Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aílton do Valle struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Noel Félix didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Patente. If Carlos Eduardo Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 25th minute of the match, Carlos Eduardo Ribeiro tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Noel Félix saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ronaldinho Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celsinho Ramalho in the 27th minute of play. Aílton do Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Félix having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Eduardo Ribeiro in the 30th minute of play forced Valparaiso's goalkeeper Noel Félix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronaldinho Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celsinho Ramalho in the 33rd minute of play. When Elias Santos fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valparaiso's protests and gave Elias Santos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Valparaiso getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Elias Santos hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the game, Tarcisio Cruz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Valparaiso's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Patente the free kick. 38 minutes into the match, Patente's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Siqueira came free, but Ronaldinho Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute Carlos Eduardo Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Félix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 48 played minutes Patente got a freekick which was hit by Cauã Marquez. Cássio Siqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldinho Botelho having to interfere. The Patente players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Valparaiso were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Eduardo Ribeiro made a kick off. Aílton do Valle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aílton do Valle's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Noel Félix read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Ronaldinho Botelho successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Carlos Eduardo Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Noel Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patente's Ronaldinho Botelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Siqueira in the 65th minute of play. Carlos Eduardo Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Patente's Ronaldinho Botelho got control of the ball when Celsinho Ramalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Ronaldinho Botelho managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Valparaiso's Zézinho Rosado fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 74 minutes into the match, Patente's goalkeeper Ronaldinho Botelho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zézinho Rosado. Moisés da Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 78th minute of the match Elder Vaz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronaldinho Botelho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Valparaiso booed when Patente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natanael Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Patente's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Siqueira came free, but Ronaldinho Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Valparaiso supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Valparaiso would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
