The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Régis da Fonseca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Afonsinho da Silva having to make a save. Douglas Silva hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Raimundo Saldanha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Falcões getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Ricardo Esteves hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Régis da Fonseca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Afonsinho da Silva was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Guto Leme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Falcões's supporters rose to their feet, but Guto Leme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raúl Vieira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Régis da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 34th minute of the match Percy Barreto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Raúl Vieira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Curralito SS getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Manfredo Catarinense hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Curralito SS's zone, Guto Leme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raúl Vieira came out of the goal and Guto Leme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Curralito SS's Raúl Vieira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guto Leme in the 40th minute of play. Afonsinho da Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nildo Vidal in the 41st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Régis da Fonseca in the 43rd minute of play forced Falcões's goalkeeper Afonsinho da Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

In the 58th minute, Régis da Fonseca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Cléberson Bastos fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Falcões's protests and gave Cléberson Bastos a yellow card for diving instead. After 63 played minutes Falcões got a freekick which was hit by Cléberson Bastos. The Curralito SS fans' excitement grew in the 66th match minute when Curralito SS's Nildo Vidal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 70 minutes in the game, Régis da Fonseca fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Afonsinho da Silva having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Manfredo Catarinense fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Henrique Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nildo Vidal kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Afonsinho da Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Régis da Fonseca in the 86th minute of play. Afonsinho da Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Régis da Fonseca in the 90th minute of the match. In the 95th play minute Nildo Vidal came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Afonsinho da Silva. 0-4.
