Raúl Vieira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliézer Leão in the 6th minute of play. After 7 minutes, Régis da Fonseca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Curralito SS and the Ibiapora players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, Ibiapora's Clóvis Rodrigues got control of the ball when Nildo Vidal tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14thth minute of the game Régis da Fonseca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ibiapora's Clóvis Rodrigues was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Edvaldo Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Ibiapora fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edvaldo Veloso couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Ibiapora booed when Curralito SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmyr Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anxelu Gómez took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raúl Vieira. Raúl Vieira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 29 minutes into the game, Walmyr Braga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Curralito SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ibiapora the free kick. A collision led to Curralito SS getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Walmyr Braga hit a great ball. In the 31st minute of the match, Régis da Fonseca tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Clóvis Rodrigues saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 34th minute Régis da Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clóvis Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clóvis Rodrigues made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nildo Vidal in the 36th minute. In the 36th match minute, Ibiapora was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliézer Leão to maneuver through the defense. Clóvis Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Régis da Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute Régis da Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clóvis Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Zé Carlos Lopes fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ibiapora's protests and gave Zé Carlos Lopes a yellow card for diving instead. Zé Carlos Lopes hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Curralito SS's Nildo Vidal ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Clóvis Rodrigues. Clóvis Rodrigues yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 51 played minutes Curralito SS got a freekick which was hit by Walmyr Braga. During the 52nd minute of the match Régis da Fonseca completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Régis da Fonseca a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Ibiapora made a substitution. Pedro Paulo Negri replaced Paulo Pacheco. The supporters of Ibiapora booed when Curralito SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Régis da Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernão Souto's late challenge caught a Ibiapora's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernão Souto helped the player get up and apologised. Gilson Berger kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th minute Edvaldo Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raúl Vieira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Délio Cruz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Clóvis Rodrigues having to make a save. Nildo Vidal struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Clóvis Rodrigues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Curralito SS.
