Afonsinho Prado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Garibaldo Casanova went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 6 minutes into the match, Esparta301's goal looked a bit too open when Geovani Dias came free, but Alfredão dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cipriano Abraão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Alfredão dos Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elivélton Moraess short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Alfredão dos Santos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Afonsinho Prado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gonçalo Tinoco's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elivélton Moraes got free with Alfredão dos Santos in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 22 played minutes Esparta301 got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Gonçalves. After 23 played minutes, Salta's Cipriano Abraão shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alfredão dos Santos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Salta reached it. A collision led to Esparta301 getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Júlio Linhares hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, Salta's Elivélton Moraes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfredão dos Santos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 30th minute, Samuel Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Michel da Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredão dos Santos having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elivélton Moraes got free with Alfredão dos Santos in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Salta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Garibaldo Casanova was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovani Dias in the 45th minute of play forced Esparta301's goalkeeper Alfredão dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Salta booed when Esparta301 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnaldo Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Salta players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Esparta301 were winning 0-2.

In the 55th minute Michel da Silveira suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 55 minutes into the game, Jerônimo Cabral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Esparta301's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salta the free kick. Salta made a substitution. Cristóvão Nunes replaced Michel da Silveira. A collision led to Esparta301 getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Jerônimo Cabral hit a great ball. In the 57th minute Geovani Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredão dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute, Elivélton Moraes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Salta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 70 minutes into the match, Esparta301's goal looked a bit too open when Geovani Dias came free, but Alfredão dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esparta301's Alfredão dos Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovani Dias in the 74th minute of play. Salta's Geovani Dias got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 80 minutes into the game, Gonçalo Tinoco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Afonsinho Prado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Geovani Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute Elivélton Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredão dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elivélton Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Salta fans' excitement grew in the 89th match minute when Salta's Elivélton Moraes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Salta's Elivélton Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elivélton Moraes in the 94th minute of play forced Esparta301's goalkeeper Alfredão dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geovani Dias kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. The Salta manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Esparta301 to win.
