Anísio Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anísio Araújo took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leonardo Sabóia. Leonardo Sabóia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. A collision led to Tabira SC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Nico Lopez hit a great ball. Norberto Souza was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 28th minute. Tabira SC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anísio Araújo in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonardo Sabóia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Tabira SC's Sydney Araújo got a free kick in the 34th minute. Leonardo Sabóia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Tabira SC's zone, Anísio Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonardo Sabóia came out of the goal and Anísio Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Humberto Romero made the kick off in the second half. Humberto Romero struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Renato Silva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tabira SC. Leonardo Sabóia made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Severino do Valle sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Piracaua getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Felipe Mangueira hit a great ball. Paulo José Cearense took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Renato Silva. Piracaua's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Tabira SC's Leonardo Sabóia got control of the ball when Severino do Valle tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Humberto Romero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Anísio Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino do Valle who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Leonardo Sabóia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 84th minute Anísio Araújo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Piracaua booed when Tabira SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sydney Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Piracaua walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
