The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Alexandre Mattos came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Macoto AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Mattos couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Carlos Borges in the 9th minute of play forced Caatinga E.C's goalkeeper Gilberto Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caatinga E.C's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Alexandre Mattos scored to the left of an out of position Gilberto Valle, making the score, 1-0. Gilberto Valle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dadá Passos in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute, Alexandre Mattos made a precise shot to the right of Gilberto Valle. Caatinga E.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Gilberto Valle made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Andrézinho Cerezo sent off a good shot on target. Caatinga E.C's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Alexandre Mattos scored to the left of an out of position Gilberto Valle, making the score, 3-0. Gilberto Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Carlos Borges in the 28th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Caatinga E.C's goalkeeper Gilberto Valle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dadá Passos. Caatinga E.C's Gilberto Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Mattos in the 33rd minute of play. Gilberto Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Mattos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Caatinga E.C's Gilvan Medeiros got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 41st minute, Macoto AD's Alexandre Mattos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gilberto Valle. Gilberto Valle yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. In the 44th minute of the match, Alexandre Mattos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gilberto Valle saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Michel Bahia hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the match, Macoto AD's Narciso Novaes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.

Gilvan Medeiros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 53rd minute José Carlos Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute, Alexandre Mattos made a precise shot to the right of Gilberto Valle. Caatinga E.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Gilberto Valle didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alexandre Mattos went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. In the 61st minute Alexandre Mattos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Dadá Passos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilberto Valle. Caatinga E.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dadá Passos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. The supporters of Macoto AD booed when Caatinga E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michel Bahia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilberto Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Mattos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilberto Valle didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alexandre Mattos went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. In the 77th minute Dadá Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Alexandre Mattos notched a goal, 9-0, to the right of Caatinga E.C's Gilberto Valle. Gilberto Valle was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 85 minutes into the game, Bruninho Brodel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 10-0. Gilberto Valle was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gilberto Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrézinho Cerezo, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. In the 90th minute, Alexandre Mattos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Macoto AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 11-0. Júnior Barbosa made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Cássio Mendes sent off a good shot on target. In the 95th minute, Cássio Mendes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gilberto Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Mattos in the 97th minute of play. Macoto AD walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
