Thanks to some nice moves Robinho Porto could shoot a difficult shot in the 20th minute, which Olavo Hoffmann however easily saved by the left post. If Durval Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walmir das Neves charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Walmir das Neves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 28 played minutes Cipotanea got a freekick which was hit by Walmir das Neves. The corner ended in Raphael das Neves almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cipotanea's Olavo Hoffmann did a great save. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eliézer Senna to make the kick off. In the 55th minute Pacova SC were awarded a corner.
