Spectators: 6677 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1677, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Álvaro Matorin took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pompeo EC's zone, Juan Passos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Penha came out of the goal and Juan Passos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the game, César Pontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pompeo EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Canaã the free kick. César Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Alfredo Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Eduardo Porto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th match minute, Pompeo EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Vítor Sabóia to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonides Ciceron in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfredo Penha saved Pompeo EC from getting behind. Alfredo Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonides Ciceron in the 22nd minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Leonides Ciceron cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Alfredo Penha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carlos Eduardo Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Alfredo Penha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Pompeo EC's José Vítor Sabóia got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute Carlos Eduardo Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pompeo EC's Alfredo Penha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Ciceron in the 43rd minute of play. José Vítor Sabóia hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The Pompeo EC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Canaã were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonides Ciceron stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pompeo EC's Alfredo Penha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Pompeo EC from getting a goal against them. In the 53rd minute Edgard de Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Paulo Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pompeo EC's Alfredo Penha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Ciceron in the 55th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Leonides Ciceron managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canaã's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonides Ciceron was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Penha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 60 minutes into the match, Pompeo EC's goalkeeper Alfredo Penha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silas de Souza. A hard shot 66 in the game by Leonides Ciceron from a close distance when the talented Alfredo Penha managed to make a qualified save. Pompeo EC's players were relieved. Pedro Paulo Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Matorin, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Carlos Eduardo Porto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th minute, Leonides Ciceron fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Alfredo Penha, passed just outside the right post. Alfredo Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonides Ciceron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 90 minutes, Leonides Ciceron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canaã's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonides Ciceron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlos Eduardo Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfredo Penha made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Leonides Ciceron sent off a good shot on target. Canaã played a much better game than Pompeo EC and deserved their victory. The Pompeo EC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
