Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) In the 5th minute Arthur Esteves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlinhos Marinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Francisco da Mata scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gustavo Carneiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Reginaldo Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Trombucas booed when Caldas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Percival Bittencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustavo Carneiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo de Godoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by Trombucas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alex Meira was slow to take the kick. During this time Caldas's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Alex Meira got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gustavo Carneiro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Elias Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Gustavo Carneiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Caldas were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Alfredo de Godoy made the kick off in the second half. In the 54thth minute of the game João Francisco da Mata who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Trombucas's Gustavo Carneiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Linhares in the 55th minute of play forced Trombucas's goalkeeper Gustavo Carneiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Trombucas's Gustavo Carneiro got control of the ball when João Francisco da Mata tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Caldas's Jorginho Tróia got a free kick in the 66th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Caldas's Alfredo de Godoy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustavo Carneiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alfredo de Godoy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustavo Carneiro having to make a save. Caldas's Alfredo de Godoy got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Percival Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustavo Carneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Francisco da Mata in the 90th minute of play. After some careless play in the Trombucas defense, Jorginho Tróia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gustavo Carneiro. The Trombucas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gustavo Carneiro should have stopped the shot. 95 minutes into the game, Guga Paes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trombucas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caldas the free kick. The supporters of Caldas booed when Trombucas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guga Paes didn't get a good kick on the ball.
