A collision led to Vasco SS getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. André Luís Marques hit a great ball. Vasco SS's Douglas Campidelis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo da Fonseca in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, César Amaral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enio Terra. Funilandia EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that César Amaral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 20 minutes into the game, Funilandia EC's Anselmo da Fonseca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Douglas Campidelis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When Edvaldo Dracena fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vasco SS's protests and gave Edvaldo Dracena a yellow card for diving instead. Edvaldo Dracena hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. If Anselmo da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Funilandia EC booed when Vasco SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Luís Marques didn't get a good kick on the ball. Douglas Campidelis came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Funilandia EC's Wanderson Pitta. But to his dismay, Wanderson Pitta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Anselmo da Fonseca scored 1-3 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Douglas Campidelis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edvaldo Dracena was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Funilandia EC's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinei Mazza came free, but Enio Terra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enio Terra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edvaldo Dracena went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wanderson Pitta got free with Douglas Campidelis in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Douglas Campidelis didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 61st minute, which inside left pole to 2-4. In the 66th minute, Gugu Severo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Anselmo da Fonseca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Douglas Campidelis was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo da Fonseca in the 73rd minute of play forced Vasco SS's goalkeeper Douglas Campidelis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wanderson Pitta who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Douglas Campidelis when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Vasco SS's César Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wanderson Pitta got free with Douglas Campidelis in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Douglas Campidelis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo da Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 88th minute, Anselmo da Fonseca fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Douglas Campidelis, passed just outside the right post. Wanderson Pitta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Douglas Campidelis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Douglas Campidelis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo da Fonseca in the 91st minute of the match. 92 minutes into the game, Jarbas Bastos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vasco SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Funilandia EC the free kick. In the 92nd match minute, Vasco SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarbas Bastos to maneuver through the defense. 95 minutes into the match, Funilandia EC's goal looked a bit too open when César Amaral came free, but Enio Terra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Funilandia EC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
