Wincenty Banach did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-0 to the left of a surprised Walmyr Reis 31 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Giovani Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ponta Grossa FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Giovani Mesquita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmyr Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Giovani Mesquita might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Walmyr Reis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Giovani Mesquita ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 40th minute, Grêmio B's Guilherme Paiva seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Guilherme Paiva the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Grêmio B protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Guilherme Paiva had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. When the match had been going on for 42 minutes, Ponta Grossa FC's Haroldo Siqueira got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Walmyr Reis. 47 minutes into the match, Grêmio B's goal looked a bit too open when Giovani Mesquita came free, but Walmyr Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kiko Penha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giovani Mesquita in the 91st minute of play forced Grêmio B's goalkeeper Walmyr Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walmyr Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giovani Mesquita in the 95th minute of the match. Ponta Grossa FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
