Spectators: 6673 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 0) Ian Freire started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Gustavo Brito didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Glauco Cavalcante went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Jorginho Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Denílson Brasil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 11 minutes, Angelo Castro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Raizal and the Afligidos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Zé Carlos Neiva's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Gustavo Brito - 2-0 was put on the score board in the 12th minute. Ian Freires short, quick shot in the 17thth minute got Gustavo Brito to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Ian Freire came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Afligidos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ian Freire couldn't finish the play. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Raizal's goalkeeper Gustavo Brito, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ian Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Raizal's Gustavo Brito got control of the ball when Glauco Cavalcante tried to sneak it across the goal line. Afligidos's Glauco Cavalcante got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

After a defensive mix-up in Raizal's zone, Glauco Cavalcante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Brito came out of the goal and Glauco Cavalcante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Glauco Cavalcante might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gustavo Brito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Glauco Cavalcante ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 69th minute, Osmar Cardozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Glauco Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Osmar Cardozo charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Osmar Cardozo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 75 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Raizal! In the 77th minute there was a penalty for Afligidos. Zé Carlos Neiva stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gustavo Brito. 3-0. After 84 minutes of play Raizal's Angelo Castro was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Angelo Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Gustavo Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian Freire in the 93rd minute of play forced Raizal's goalkeeper Gustavo Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ian Freire came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Afligidos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ian Freire couldn't finish the play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Raizal players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Afligidos.
