He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Carlos Fernando Baiano. An unexpectedly hard shot by Perivaldo Reis in the 47th minute of play forced Alegrete EC's goalkeeper Carlos Fernando Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 51st minute, Álvaro Carneiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Fernando Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Perivaldo Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Carlos Fernando Baiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fernando Aguiar in the 77th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, Alegrete EC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Fernando Aguiar came free, but Carlos Fernando Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
