Spectators: 7248 (Terracing: 5437, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Régis Gaspar started the match with the kick off. Samuca Dias came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio FBPA's Régis Gaspar. But to his dismay, Régis Gaspar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 13 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Vitinho Carioca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maurício Vale. When Grêmio FBPA's Régis Gaspar in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mocidade Alegre's goalie prevented a goal. If Betão Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Betão Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Samuca Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28thth minute of the game Régis Gaspar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mocidade Alegre's Samuca Dias was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Régis Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Dias having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Betão Martins in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Samuca Dias saved Mocidade Alegre from getting behind. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Celso Maia kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio FBPA's zone, Guga Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vitinho Carioca came out of the goal and Guga Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maurício Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitinho Carioca having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Régis Gaspar in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Samuca Dias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Manuel Pombal charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manuel Pombal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 66 played minutes Mocidade Alegre got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Pombal. After a defensive mix-up in Mocidade Alegre's zone, Betão Martins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raphael Vinhas hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the game, Grêmio FBPA's Betão Martins nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Samuca Dias made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. If Guga Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute Maurício Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitinho Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grêmio FBPA's Vitinho Carioca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guga Souza in the 85th minute of play. Guga Souza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guga Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Grêmio FBPA walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
