The crowd rose to their feet as Piratas FC's Hugo Txartiko slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Durvalino Vergílio. That made the score 2-0 after 21 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Piratas FC's zone, Miguel Saldanha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José de Toledo came out of the goal and Miguel Saldanha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edinho Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Miguel Saldanha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. José de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
