When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Waldemar Goiano took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Frank Linhares to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Sinistro Futebol Clube booed when Carnaubinhas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarbas Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, Délio Baptista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Diego Albuquerque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Délio Baptista in the 38th minute of play forced Carnaubinhas's goalkeeper Frank Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Délio Baptista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carnaubinhas's Frank Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Délio Baptista in the 47th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luizinho Paraibano to make the kick off. Délio Baptista took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Frank Linhares. Frank Linhares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The audience was convinced that Délio Baptista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frank Linhares was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Frank Linhares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Didi Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Didi Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Frank Linhares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Diego Albuquerque had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Frank Linhares. Carnaubinhas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diego Albuquerque was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. In the 90thth minute of the game Didi Medeiros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carnaubinhas's Frank Linhares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 95 minutes into the game, Sinistro Futebol Clube's Adrianinho Prado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frank Linhares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1.
