The referee ignored Santa Teresa's protests and gave Agostinho Tavares a yellow card for diving instead. If Roger Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. Juaranamana SC's Dinei Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Campidelis in the 25th minute of play.
