Iosif Unciuleanu was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 39 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 39th minute of the game. One of Curitiba BlackStars:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Taboao:s goal. The referee gave Taboao a penalty, 42 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Inácio Meireles, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Curitiba BlackStars's Lenílson Neto. 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Armando de Brito to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Edmílson Arruda notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Taboao's Luiz Fernando Freitas. Luiz Fernando Freitas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Curitiba BlackStars were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
