The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Geovani Bertassi was the one to do the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastião Penha couldn't finish the play. In the 53rd minute, Luís Gustavo Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Estrada da Ilha FC's Sebastião Penha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Adolfo Bueno narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Time das estrelas's zone, Sebastião Penha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Adolfo Bueno came out of the goal and Sebastião Penha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Geovani Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Time das estrelas players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
