The supporters of Lokomotiv Curitiba booed when Atlético de Cajazeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilmar Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabrício Pontes succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 7th playminute. After having played for 11 minutes, Eurico Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 29 played minutes Atlético de Cajazeiras got a freekick which was hit by Nicolas Vander. 30 minutes into the match, Walmyr Matos sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Adalberto Melo threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Walmyr Matos this time. Eurico Dantas scored 1-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Felipe Ferreira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fabrício Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalberto Melo having to interfere. Eurico Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Lokomotiv Curitiba's Doriva Sanches dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eurico Dantas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Frederico Arantes charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frederico Arantes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Doriva Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Adalberto Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atlético de Cajazeiras's Gabriel Moura got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Lokomotiv Curitiba had won after a very even match.
