With a little luck, SC Parma's Rubinho Quintal got control of the ball when Durval Jacinto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luizinho Galvão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubinho Quintal having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SC Parma's Pavlos Korais got a free kick in the 43rd minute.
