Douglas Pernambucano was a little too slow when Gildo Mineiro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 1-0. Gildo Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Pernambucano having to interfere. Douglas Pernambucano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gildo Mineiro in the 27th minute. Júlio Secco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Ramón Peixoto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. The Galaxy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. 87 minutes into the match, Barraquinha's goal looked a bit too open when Gildo Mineiro came free, but Douglas Pernambucano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 97 played minutes Barraquinha got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Falcão. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Galaxy fully deserved thier win.
