Spectators: 6678 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1678, VIP seats: 0) Barigui EC's Tales Tavares got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paulo Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Sebastião de Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luizão Campidelis was out of position in the 16 minute of play, and Diguinho Mesquita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Diguinho Mesquita really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vitinho Nóbrega got free with Luizão Campidelis in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21st minute, Wilian Gomes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, Guarei's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Rosa came free, but Sebastião de Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 30 played minutes Guarei got a freekick which was hit by Elano Couto. After recieving a nice pass, Barigui EC's Paulo Maranhense tried to score from far away in the 31st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Vitinho Nóbrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Rosa in the 43rd minute of play forced Guarei's goalkeeper Sebastião de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastião de Moraes came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Barigui EC's Tales Tavares. But to his dismay, Tales Tavares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulo Rosa made a kick off. Vitinho Nóbrega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Luizão Campidelis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes into the game, Paulo Rosa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sebastião de Moraes. Paulo Rosa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Diguinho Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guarei's supporters rose to their feet, but Diguinho Mesquita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luizão Campidelis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Paulo Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 77 in the game by Tales Tavares from a close distance when the talented Sebastião de Moraes managed to make a qualified save. Guarei's players were relieved. 78 minutes into the match, Guarei's Diguinho Mesquita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luizão Campidelis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Guarei's Sebastião de Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Rosa in the 82nd minute of play. Raí de Alcântara charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raí de Alcântara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 88th minute, André Luiz Perez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Guarei's Sebastião de Moraes got control of the ball when Tales Tavares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tales Tavares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Sebastião de Moraes made a huge save. Sebastião de Moraes made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Tales Tavares sent off a good shot on target. The Barigui EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Barigui EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
