Spectators: 7223 (Terracing: 5419, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 143) Corinthians's Bruninho Soeiro started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Surucutinga FC's Marcus Carioca got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcus Carioca in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabiano Reis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 12 played minutes Corinthians got a freekick which was hit by Rafa de Sena. Marcus Carioca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabiano Reis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victor Ortiz in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabiano Reis saved Corinthians from getting behind. After 22 minutes, Dagoberto Mattos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corinthians and the Surucutinga FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 22 played minutes Corinthians got a freekick which was hit by Dagoberto Mattos. Thomás Marinho, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 27th match minute, Corinthians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edvaldo de Souza to maneuver through the defense. Corinthians's Fabiano Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Ortiz in the 29th minute of play. Corinthians's Bruninho Soeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Victor Ortiz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabiano Reis having to make a save. In the 38th minute, Marcus Carioca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcus Carioca in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabiano Reis saved Corinthians from getting behind. When the match clock showed 41 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Victor Ortiz sped through Corinthians's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fabiano Reis. Marcus Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victor Ortiz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Victor Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Corinthians's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Marcus Carioca fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Fabiano Reis was a little too slow when Marcus Carioca got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 0-2. Fabiano Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Ortiz in the 70th minute of the match. Fabiano Reis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcus Carioca in the 77th minute. Marcus Carioca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Fabiano Reis made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Ortiz in the 87th minute of play forced Corinthians's goalkeeper Fabiano Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victor Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Fabiano Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Corinthians booed when Surucutinga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Mazza didn't get a good kick on the ball.
