An unexpectedly hard shot by Jefferson Dantas in the 19th minute of play forced Cannarias's goalkeeper Pedrinho Damião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yuri Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 27 minutes, Josué de Queiroz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ouricana and the Cannarias players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ouricana's Josué de Queiroz got a free kick in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Célio Paranaense in the 30th minute of play forced Ouricana's goalkeeper Cássio Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute, Josué de Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Célio Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. Pedrinho Damião didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ouricana. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ricardinho Rossi made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André Leal during the 51st minute. Yuri Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 54th minute Ricardinho Rossi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrinho Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedrinho Damião was a little too slow when Yuri Fonseca got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-1. When Yuri Fonseca came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Ouricana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yuri Fonseca couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute, Ricardinho Rossi fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Pedrinho Damião, passed just outside the right post. After 73 played minutes Ouricana got a freekick which was hit by Alfredinho Abreu. The audience held their breath when Jânio Alvarenga in the 75th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Cássio Brito's left hand side. Zeca Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cássio Brito having to interfere. After 87 played minutes Ricardinho Rossi rounded Cannarias's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. Célio Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ouricana's zone, Célio Paranaense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cássio Brito came out of the goal and Célio Paranaense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 95 minutes into the match, Cannarias's Célio Paranaense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cássio Brito narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Cannarias supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ouricana's performance. The match ended with a win for Ouricana.
