The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cláudio Dracena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Cafu Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valeriy Buglay came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Sapopema's Anselmo Bastos. But to his dismay, Anselmo Bastos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Totora's Valeriy Buglay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandinho Loyola in the 21st minute of play. Cafu Bueno was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Marcelo Pacheco capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marcelo Pacheco really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. 35 minutes into the match, Cláudio Dracena notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Sapopema's Cafu Bueno. Cafu Bueno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cláudio Dracena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Matías Passos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Murilo Berger made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Totora were awarded a corner. Vitinho Monteiro went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Vitinho Monteiro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cafu Bueno quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 59 minutes of play, Totora's Marcelo Pacheco made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cafu Bueno was left in no man's land by his defense there! 63 minutes into the match, Totora's goalkeeper Valeriy Buglay had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Fernando França. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucas Amaral during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Murilo Berger came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Totora fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Murilo Berger couldn't finish the play. In the 86th match minute, Sapopema was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adalberto de Souza to maneuver through the defense. Valeriy Buglay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Bastos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
