Ernesto Peixoto yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sydney Rezende in the 22nd minute of play forced Esteira's goalkeeper Clóvis Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Sydney Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Pitingao FC booed when Esteira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duarte Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sydney Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Clóvis Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pitingao FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dudu Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sydney Rezende stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Delfim Romero might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clóvis Arce. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Delfim Romero ran back to his position shaking his head. Clóvis Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sydney Rezende, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. 66 minutes into the game, Sydney Rezende recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Clóvis Arce. Sydney Rezende showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Sydney Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. The Pitingao FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernesto Peixoto should have stopped the shot. Clóvis Arce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pitingao FC. 96 minutes into the match, Pitingao FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arthur Lucas came free, but Ernesto Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pitingao FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
