Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Adrianinho Lira started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd minute, Juninho Batista made a precise shot to the right of Durvalino Paraíba. Iuru FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 14 played minutes Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Barros. Durvalino Paraíba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juninho Batista in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrianinho Lira in the 22nd minute of play forced Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Arí Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juninho Batista took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Durvalino Paraíba. Durvalino Paraíba dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Fernandinho Valadares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alex Gaspar's late challenge caught a Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Gaspar helped the player get up and apologised. Alex Gaspar hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Miranda in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Durvalino Paraíba saved Iuru FC from getting behind. Through an outstanding action, after 35 minutes, Arí Santana successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Esporte Clube's Arí Santana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. The throw-in from Walmyr Abraão in the 40th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Esporte Clube's Franklin Dracena. In the 43rd minute Esporte Clube were awarded a corner. Tadeu Lima went to the cornerflag to take it. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Nelson Barros advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-4 in the 43rd minute. Durvalino Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juninho Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Eduardo Rocha during the 49th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 50 played minutes Iuru FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Eduardo Rocha. Esporte Clube's Tadeu Lima couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 51st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Iuru FC. After the first half Esporte Clube were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juninho Batista made a kick off. In the 56th match minute, Iuru FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natanael Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. When Nico Paiva fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iuru FC's protests and gave Nico Paiva a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Esporte Clube booed when Iuru FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nico Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nelson Barros during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Esporte Clube's Nelson Barros got a free kick in the 65th minute. Iuru FC's Durvalino Paraíba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Iuru FC from getting a goal against them. In the 72nd minute Adrianinho Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arí Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Iuru FC's Adrianinho Lira got a free kick in the 74th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adelino Vale got free with Durvalino Paraíba in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arí Santana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chicão Aparecido, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Adrianinho Lira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Arí Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Natã Ramos hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juninho Batista in the 93rd minute of play forced Iuru FC's goalkeeper Durvalino Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute Adrianinho Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arí Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arí Santana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adrianinho Lira's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Arí Santana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chicão Aparecido in the 97th minute of play. Esporte Clube played a much better game than Iuru FC and deserved their victory. The Iuru FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
