Spectators: 6676 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1676, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Erik de Amorim got the match started through his kick off. Narciso Abraão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ademar Bittencourt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 2nd minute of play. Ademar Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renato Veloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 5 minutes, Renato Veloso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Apucaraninha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Renato Veloso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Apucaraninha's César Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar de Queirós in the 7th minute of play. In the 9th minute Caio Araújo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but César Carneiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Renato Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the game, Caio Araújo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mariopolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Apucaraninha the free kick. The supporters of Apucaraninha booed when Mariopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caio Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute, Joaquim Coelho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edgar de Queirós charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edgar de Queirós the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Apucaraninha booed when Mariopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar de Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ademar Bittencourt was a little too slow when Renato Veloso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 16th minute. The score was now 1-0. Apucaraninha's César Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrianinho Alves in the 22nd minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Apucaraninha's goal looked a bit too open when Adrianinho Alves came free, but César Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Apucaraninha's Hílton Cearense slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ademar Bittencourt. That made the score 3-0 after 29 minutes of play. If Júlio Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nilmar Maranhense lost his temper 35 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 36 played minutes Mariopolis got a freekick which was hit by Nilmar Maranhense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joaquim Coelho got free with Ademar Bittencourt in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ademar Bittencourt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Coelho in the 42nd minute of the match. Renato Veloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Ademar Bittencourt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Renato Veloso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ademar Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júlio Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adrianinho Alves struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. César Carneiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mariopolis. 55 minutes into the match, Apucaraninha's goal looked a bit too open when Tomé Senna came free, but César Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ademar Bittencourt came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Apucaraninha's Joaquim Coelho. But to his dismay, Joaquim Coelho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Renato Veloso might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ademar Bittencourt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Renato Veloso ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Coelho in the 71st minute of play forced Mariopolis's goalkeeper Ademar Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute, Caio Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Abraão in the 75th minute of play forced Mariopolis's goalkeeper Ademar Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Renato Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademar Bittencourt having to interfere. If Renato Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Caio Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Renato Veloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Apucaraninha's supporters rose to their feet, but Renato Veloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ademar Bittencourt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Apucaraninha had played much better football throughout.
