THOMAZ FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manfredo Campidelis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Hernani Britto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ademar Arruda in the 96th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 98 minutes, Edinho Velloso put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Hernani Britto. Many of THOMAZ FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. THOMAZ FC may have spent more time on the ball, but The Blue Dolphins were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
