In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Torneiras F.C.'s goalkeeper Paulo Renato Dionísio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lino Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 30 minutes into the match, Atlético Monte Azul's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Viana came free, but Ruslan Bundash reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Adalberto Hoffmann cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ruslan Bundash was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lino Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruslan Bundash having to interfere. Cacá Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cacá Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 39thth minute of the game Lino Viana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Monte Azul's Ruslan Bundash was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Torneiras F.C.! Erasmo Ceresso shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Paulo Renato Dionísio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisão Vander, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Torneiras F.C.'s Lino Viana got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ruslan Bundash took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adalberto Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luisão Vander made a kick off. Torneiras F.C.'s Paulo Renato Dionísio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisão Vander in the 52nd minute of play. Enéas Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Paulo Renato Dionísio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisão Vander in the 59th minute of play forced Torneiras F.C.'s goalkeeper Paulo Renato Dionísio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the game, Luizão Novaes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atlético Monte Azul's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Torneiras F.C. the free kick. Luizão Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. If Lino Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruslan Bundash was a little too slow when Lino Viana got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 71st minute. The score was now 0-2. 74 minutes into the game, Adalberto Hoffmann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 89th minute Luisão Vander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato Dionísio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Atlético Monte Azul supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Torneiras F.C.'s performance. The match ended with a win for Torneiras F.C..
