In the 17th minute, Kauan Bastos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alex Moreno scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gugu Ribeiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Peneiras AD's Vágner de Amaral got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After 23 played minutes Kauan Bastos rounded Peneiras AD's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. An unexpected shot in the 26th minute by Geovânio Bezerra got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Vágner de Amaral charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vágner de Amaral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Peneiras AD's Vágner de Amaral got a free kick in the 27th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Peneiras AD's goal looked a bit too open when Kauan Bastos came free, but Amauri Nunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Horizontina's Charles da Mata got a free kick in the 30th minute. Gugu Ribeiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Evandro Loyola went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half Peneiras AD were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kauan Bastos to make the kick off. A collision led to Peneiras AD getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Abel Zanette hit a great ball. After 53 played minutes, Horizontina's David Quirino shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Amauri Nunes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Horizontina reached it. Gugu Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evandro Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 61st minute, Alex Moreno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reginaldo Paiva hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Geovânio Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Evandro Loyola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Horizontina's goal looked a bit too open when Evandro Loyola came free, but Gugu Ribeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evandro Loyola in the 76th minute of play forced Horizontina's goalkeeper Gugu Ribeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horizontina's Gugu Ribeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evandro Loyola in the 85th minute of play.
