Canxe EC's Júlio Vergílio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Canxe EC from getting a goal against them. Ronaldo de Andrade hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After 25 minutes of play, Athletic San Moscati's Rubens Cardoso made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Júlio Vergílio was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guilherme Tavares during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience was convinced that Frank Maia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Júlio Vergílio was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Júlio Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When João Vítor da Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Canxe EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Vítor da Cunha couldn't finish the play. If Frank Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Vergílio having to interfere. After having played for 98 minutes, Rubens Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Athletic San Moscati's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rubens Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
