Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Vitinho Pena got the match started through his kick off. Valdir Bittencourt came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Corrente's Bruninho Quirino. But to his dismay, Bruninho Quirino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When Ciro Paraense came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Corrente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciro Paraense couldn't finish the play. In the 9th minute, Corrente's Ciro Paraense ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Valdir Bittencourt. Valdir Bittencourt yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. After some careless play in the Juturnaiba defense, Bruninho Quirino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valdir Bittencourt. The Juturnaiba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valdir Bittencourt should have stopped the shot. After having played for 24 minutes, Vitinho Pena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juturnaiba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vitinho Pena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Juturnaiba fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Juturnaiba's Vitinho Pena looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ciro Paraense struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Valdir Bittencourt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corrente. After 36 played minutes Corrente got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Pereira. Valdir Bittencourt was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ciro Paraense showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-2 in the 43 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

If Bruninho Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57thth minute of the game Ciro Paraense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Juturnaiba's Valdir Bittencourt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Juturnaiba's Valdir Bittencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruninho Quirino in the 59th minute of play. Bruninho Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Juturnaiba's zone, Bruninho Quirino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdir Bittencourt came out of the goal and Bruninho Quirino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valdir Bittencourt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Paraense in the 66th minute of the match. Valdir Bittencourt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruninho Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. A very nice done corner allowed Nilton Marques to score against Valdir Bittencourt in Juturnaiba's goal. 5-2 after 69 minutes. Chicão dos Santos had great luck who in the 73rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Vitinho Pena from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 78th minute Bruninho Quirino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Bittencourt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Ciro Paraense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valdir Bittencourt. Juturnaiba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciro Paraense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-2. With a little luck, Corrente's Chicão dos Santos got control of the ball when Dorival Palmeira tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Juturnaiba's Léo Penha got a free kick in the 88th minute. Bruninho Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Valdir Bittencourt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Corrente's goalkeeper Chicão dos Santos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bruninho Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Bittencourt having to interfere. Corrente's Chicão dos Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Corrente from getting a goal against them. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Corrente fully deserved thier win.
