If Valdemar Madureira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luiz Fabiano Perez was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdemar Madureira got free with Geovânio Coutinho in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jacareacanga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manoel FC the free kick. A collision led to Jacareacanga getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Percival Porto hit a great ball. When Luiz Fabiano Perez came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Jacareacanga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Fabiano Perez couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Ulysses de Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jacareacanga's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulysses de Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geovânio Coutinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valdemar Madureira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Gilmar dos Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kaká Hermes's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Geovânio Coutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Dalmo Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilmar dos Santos having to interfere.
