Kaká Hermes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Nilmar Souto skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Geovânio Coutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Carlos Ceresso in the 20th minute of play. Nilmar Souto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dalmo Paiva in the 21st minute of the match. 22 minutes into the match, Nova Aurora Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Nilmar Souto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kaká Hermes. In the 33rd minute, Afonsinho Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dalmo Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nilmar Souto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalmo Paiva in the 38th minute of play. The supporters of Nova Aurora Futebol Clube booed when Manoel FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustavo Veloso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dalmo Paiva struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Nilmar Souto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manoel FC.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Afonsinho Leal during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 53 played minutes Nova Aurora Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Afonsinho Leal. Dalmo Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilmar Souto having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dalmo Paiva in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nilmar Souto saved Nova Aurora Futebol Clube from getting behind. Dalmo Paiva got in the 67th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Nilmar Souto handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After 69th play minutes Dalmo Paiva shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Nilmar Souto and just under the crossbar into goal. Gustavo Veloso's late challenge caught a Manoel FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustavo Veloso helped the player get up and apologised. After 75 played minutes Nova Aurora Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Veloso. Manoel FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
